Yumlet Privacy Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to the Yumlet mobile app, recipe and subscription links served from official Yumlet domains, and the website located at officialyumlet.com.

2. Information Yumlet Processes

Recipe import content

When you ask Yumlet to import a recipe, the app may process the source URL, shared text, extracted recipe content, and related metadata needed to turn that source into a structured recipe.

Device and service metadata

Yumlet may process a device-generated identifier, app version, build number, device model, operating system version, request timestamps, IP address, and token issuance details to operate the service, secure the API, and prevent abuse.

Subscription and Apple-service information

Yumlet relies on Apple for in-app subscriptions. The app may read subscription and entitlement status supplied by Apple so premium access can be granted correctly. If you enable iCloud sync, recipe data can be stored in your iCloud account through Apple CloudKit.

Website usage

Like most websites, the Yumlet site may process limited technical request data such as server logs and basic security information needed to serve pages and protect the service.

3. How Yumlet Uses Information

To import, structure, and return recipe data you request.
To provide shopping-list and recipe-related features.
To issue and verify device access tokens, maintain service security, and reduce abuse.
To confirm subscription access and restore purchases through Apple services.
To support optional iCloud sync across your Apple devices.
To operate, troubleshoot, and improve the reliability of the app and website.

4. Sharing

Yumlet does not sell your personal information. Yumlet may share information only as needed with service providers and platform partners that help deliver the product, including:

Apple, for App Store billing, subscription status, and optional CloudKit sync.
Infrastructure and hosting providers that help serve the Yumlet API and website.
OpenAI, to process recipe-import and grocery-list requests that depend on AI-powered extraction or formatting.
Law enforcement or regulators when required by law or to protect the security of the service.

5. Retention

Recipe data you save in the app remains on your device unless you delete it. If iCloud sync is enabled, synced recipe data may remain in your Apple iCloud account until you remove it. Device access tokens are designed to expire automatically, and operational logs or security records are retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to run and protect the service.

6. Your Choices

You can stop using recipe-import features at any time.
You can disable iCloud sync inside the app settings.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings.
You can remove recipes from your library directly in the app.

7. Children

Yumlet is not directed to children under 13, and Yumlet does not knowingly build the service to collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

Yumlet may update this Privacy Policy as the product, infrastructure, or legal requirements change. When that happens, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
